Since the era of COVID-19, the once-fantastical notion of co-working and flexible workspace has slowly become normalised. Collectively, we learned how curate better ways (and places) to work.
Co-founders of Good Axe, Yule Guttenbeil and Iolanthe Gabrie, have long been advocates of the value of co-working. Their natural sense of hosting, facilitation and communality is the reason we exist. But why micro co-working in city fringe areas? Why didn’t Good Axe just decide to take out a couple of floors in the CBD? Well, between fostering authentic community connection and encouraging a healthier work-life balance, we have a few reasons…

Authentic community is hard to build when you’re in small and medium-sized business in particular. How do we operate commercially without silo-ing our team? How do we encourage genuine friendships, learning by osmosis and provide a place people enjoy spending their workday? Whilst there’s no one single answer, but co-working as a concept solves many of these problems.
By offering a flexible co-working location for your team, talen from all walks of life naturally mingle and interact. Whether you bump into each other whilst making a coffee, or someone recognises a sticker on your laptop, sharing a communal physical space allows for people who’d never usually get a chance to interact to form strong interpersonal relationships. These relationships not only lend themselves joyful to workers, but they can enhance the tenure of your team - something particularly important for smaller teams.
Opportunity can act like lightning in a bottle sometimes. Our curated, high-responsibility space benefits everyone. We also find that co-working is a catalyst for a healthier, happier life.
At Good Axe, we offer an elegant space you’ll feel proud to invite your clients and colleagues. We have a variety of businesses who house themselves at Good Axe; industry bodies, lawyers, non-profits, digital agencies and more. Most of our members are in two to three days per week, and we’ve both permanent desk and hotdesking offerings that work with your practice as you scale up or down.
We remain convinced that co-working is the answer to many conundrums faced by smaller and mid-sized businesses. From the unlikely friends you make to unique the collaborative opportunities that naturally arise, we’re of the opinion that co-working is the cat’s meow.
